This Is Why I Run: Parkes Kendrick
In our most recent marathon, Tunnel Vision, our first place woman finisher came across the finish line at 3:01:25. Here is her story...
"I started running when I was in third grade as part of the local track club. I really enjoyed it, and continued to run through high school. However, soccer was always my primary love, and so when I went to college I decided to give up running in order to play soccer competitively. However, during my senior year in college soccer was no longer making me happy, so I ran track and cross country during my last year! I had so much fun, and I’ve continued running recreationally post-college. I live in Seattle, and I absolutely love running around all of the lakes. I’ve also met so many good friends through running, so it’s also an important social activity for me! This was my first marathon - my friend invited me to do it."
And we are glad they did! Well done Parkes - we hope you see you again soon!
